Dear Friends,
June 19, 2007 is the 62nd birthday of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. She has now been in detention for nearly 11 years and 8 months since 20 July 1989. With the theme, Is Defending Basic Rights a Crime?, Women's League for Burma (WLB) has launched a postcard campaign against the Burmese military regime, the State & Peace Development Council (SPDC), to oppose their unlawful detention of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, and other human rights advocates.
Please send the postcard to the nearest SPDC embassy in your area. The postcard can be downloaded from: http://www.womenofb daw_aung_ san_suu_kyi_ postcard. pdf Link for SPDC embassies: http://www.myanmars .net/bluepages/ myanmar.embassie s.htm
